When do things become so blinding, so desperate that we lose sight of reality— of the things we truly need? The things in life which keep us alive and safe… able to carry on to the next ultimate battle on the horizon? In truth, it is not the riches and glory of this world which lie just beyond the grasp of our tiny hands, at least for the millions of souls who first impart upon this journey. It’s the search for something much more. But what could that be?
To answer that conundrum, I have only to discover the reason for this mind-boggling mind-twister…
If I am soon to be meeting my death on a sinking ship, why would I pray for rain? Because I’m dying? Because of an illusion? Because I’m scared? Because I’m uncomfortable? It’s a question to consider.
Either way, the ship is going down. Unless a miracle occurs, I’m going to meet my destiny one way or another. Rain will only do one of two things—
1. Quench that dry, soul-stealing thirst that I will eventually die from anyway.
2. Sink the ship faster and all aboard will be extinguished.

But when you’re desperate, you’re desperate. You don’t care about the future. You only want relief from the now. How you obtain it really doesn’t matter, at least at the time. Pain is pain. Suffering is suffering. And to anybody and everybody experiencing such a life, it must stop.
No matter the consequences.

Or must it? Do you have the power, the ability to choose differently? Can you, in such a state, even make a different choice? Can you put the selfish desire of relief, no matter how justified it may be, aside for the rights and interests of others? Can those you sacrifice your life and at times, sanity to save, do the same for you when needed? To consider its impact on others? The nation? The future?

For chronic pain, the community is a simple one. And in this scenario, it’s easy to assume it’s the pain patient who is crying out for rain can and how bearing your thirst a little longer possibly save the ship. Correct? If not, will it, at the very least, give the person in pain and others time to procure another way to treatment?
But WHAT IF, the floundering vessel is IN FACT not the patient but HIS COUNTRY’S HEALTHCARE SYSTEM— and the ABILITY to obtain that health CARE — pain relief? That’s what he is desperately praying for? AND the VESSEL, his NATION is going down fast.

In Truth, Americans are now CHRONICALLY TORTURED by being denied, revoked, abandoned, and/or left to suffer (with the consequences of such torture) and provided no adequate medical care to recover from the torture. Disabled American citizens now are expected to live within their decreased daily function, to the best of their limited abilities and within their disabilities, with NO sufficient daily treatment for their chronic pain. This pain is due to the conditions which are the DIRECT CAUSE OF THEIR DISABILITIES and limit their function and ability to work, live and operate within society, and perform normal functions including but not limited to, within their own families.
The DAMAGE which has occurred to the SHIP or NATION is a direct result of the gulag-style atrocities to severe chronic and intractable pain DISABLED CITIZENS AND OTHERS within the sinking ship’s American Healthcare System. The prayer of ALL within its hull and on its deck who are watching and know the ship is going down, are not merely thirsty throat but are BEGGING for the launch of a rescue mission from above.
Not just for us— but for an entire nation.

Now, I’m not saying this is the only conundrum it can apply to in life. As Christians, we face many trials, many tribulations. The end times are here or close as far as I can tell.
That means we must be extra vigilant regarding our prayers. Our communication with the Almighty via the Almighty is a very powerful weapon indeed. Yeah, read that one again.
Don’t take your prayers for granted much less lightly. They can move mountains. Sink ships. And turn the tide.
There is a reason our Lord says He will never ever leave not forsake us. He sent the Holy Spirit to abide within us— until we are joined we the Father and Jesus on that Day.
He’s a great Friend, Confidante, and Partner. I walk with Him. Laugh and cry with Him every day of my life. And during this long drought of pain my country has forced me (and others) to suffer through, the Comforter has never left my side.
So, I continue— as I hope you will join me— steadfast on the Faithwalker’s Journey
In Christ, praying for rain.
