The Truth Matters

The Value of Truth

Candle in the Dark

Many people have told me, “I could never have done what you have,” or “You are much stronger than I am.” When in reality, I am not much different than they— or you. In fact, I’m rather a short, weak, non-athletic, out of shape female with average skills, to tell the truth.

Barring the higher than average IQ which has enabled me to overcome numerous physical challenges tossed my way, I would say I’m nothing special. I come from an average income family— a bit on the lower side in all honesty but who hid it well— considered white oil field trash by many with a mix of law enforcement and medical professionals, we wore the mantles proudly if with a bit of frustration.

The one thing about these fields is that at one time, they were honest to the core. The folks in these professions may have loved their tall tales (and they could tell them—still can!), but they valued Truth above all else. I was raised during the heart of that era.

Truth remains the cornerstone of how I live my life— in all ways.

The Perversion of Truth

The Truth

Maybe that’s why I abhor lying and lies with a passion. This new age of warping reality to suit an individual’s own purposes and desires at the cost of the truth goes against the very foundation of who and what I am.

I was raised and taught to be a good and honest person. I became a Christian when I was eighteen years old. But the culture of America today goes against everything I was taught— that I am and was raised to be. In fact, it’s the very antithesis of it.

In America and the world today, to be honest with your beliefs, thoughts, and ideas in order to NOT warp your body, soul, and mind according to how you were born is considered a deception and wrongBAD… evil.

Strong words, I know, but, remember, I was raised during a time that the term “deception” was rarely used by “good people.” And if it was, deception or lying about a person, time, place, or thing (including oneself) was only committed to protect the masses and never to benefit oneself. For example, a spy during the Cold War, undercover police officers… these are jobs still in place today but perhaps for different reasons.

I’m not one to agree with lying on the job but protecting the lives of millions to do so? I guess that will be the Lord’s judgment as to if it is permissible, not mine. As for me, I will choose to forgive the lies and deceptions.

But today’s permissive society of painful, deliberate, and intentional deceptions by friends and/or family members, influenced by the current selfish and amoral culture with its little to no sexual definitions as wells as its abuse by the lack of rather grossly laxidazical medical oversight and the enabling and justification of perverse sexual freedoms, has only served to reinforce the one thing I’ve always known.

If you need to lie about it, stop doing it.

In other words, lying or deception, no matter the cause or the reason, is wrong.

THE TRUTH MATTERS MORE.

Why does Truth Matter? A burden comes with every lie you utter, every deception you weave. You must remember that lie so you can re-tell it the exact way to others or the same person, the same way.

But truth never changes. It’s always the TRUTH.

It may not be nice or happy but it is secure. It will not alter. Truth will never warp into a lie, and even if the truth itself sucks and is hard to bear or say, you can always count on it to stay the same. And if nothing else, in this constantly changing evil world, THAT ALONE is worth hanging on to WITH BOTH HANDS.

The Pursuit of Truth

What is Truth? Why is it so important in a person’s life?

I’ve already mentioned confusion comes from telling lies. What did I mean by that? Do you know? Have you ever been caught in a web of lies? One of your own making?

Caught in the Web

It’s not a pleasant feeling. It sometimes begins rather innocently. A small white lie compounded by another then another until soon you have woven an intricate web and you are caught in the center with no way out.

Why not? Because as you work your way through the lies, fixing each one, you slowly realize they are getting older and older… smaller and smaller and you are lost. And like tiptoeing through a den of snakes, you’re being bitten every time you utter a word! Why? You forget what the story or lie you told or tell it to the wrong person!

Eventually you give up and admit failure, the most humiliating act of your life. Your family and friends now know you are a liar. How will anyone ever trust you again? What will you do now!!

It’s very simple actually. Admit that you are human. Not a god. You want what’s best for your family, friends, yourself, and everyone you know, but you lost sight of how to get that for a while. Just like everybody else does on Earth.

Then turn a new page. Stop lying to yourself and everybody else. Tell God, yourself, and everybody else, no more lies.

THE TRUTH MATTERS

But don’t expect to be able to do it alone. First you need to discover WHAT THE TRUTH IS.

What is the Truth?

Who are you going to be?

When you look in the mirror what do you see? Who? Do you see what society tells you to see or what is truly there? Who the culture wants you to be or who God means you to be? THE TRUTH or Your Truth? Society’s version of Truth?

There is a difference. They are not the same thing. Do not have the same definition. To discover TRUTH, unchanging, steadfast, eternal TRUTH, you must seek it, not create or make it.

Truth is found, discovered— not made or created only to be altered at will. Science contains Truth and supplements the Word of God. Every day, scientific discoveries prove true instead of remaining simplistic theories. They are now “proving” or substantiating the Word of God although unbelievers refuses to accept it. No mind, more will be proven as the days go by, but scientists will still turn a blind eye to the TRUTH.

Will you? Don’t be fooled— deluded, my friends. Open your hearts, your souls and minds. See the TRUTH with more than your eyes. Open your soul, your entire being, and let the Lord save you. Jesus is waiting. He lives for you today just as He died and rose again for you over two thousand years ago.

The TRUTH IS WAITING for you. Seek it.

In Christ always,

Renee
